Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White is set to undergo a medical at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of a £60 million transfer, with the deal expected to be finalised in the next 24 hours.
Sources close to the negotiations told BBC Sport that Spurs are preparing to trigger the 25-year-old’s release clause, with formalities now in motion to accelerate the move.
Gibbs-White, who has four England caps, was previously on Manchester City’s radar earlier this summer, but Pep Guardiola’s side have since cooled their interest.
The midfielder registered seven goals and eight assists in 34 Premier League appearances last season, attracting attention from several top-flight clubs.
With Anthony Elanga already sold to Newcastle United for £55 million, Gibbs-White is now poised to become the second high-profile departure from the City Ground this summer.
Tottenham, under newly appointed head coach Thomas Frank, are actively reshaping their squad. The North London club recently completed the £55 million signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham and remain interested in Brentford attacker Yoane Wissa.
Gibbs-White joined Nottingham Forest from Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2022 for a then-club-record £25 million plus add-ons. Since then, he has made 118 appearances, scoring 18 goals and providing 28 assists.
He made his England senior debut as a substitute in a Nations League win over Ireland under interim manager Lee Carsley, and featured most recently in a 3-1 friendly defeat to Senegal under new national team boss Thomas Tuchel.
