SystemSpecs Holdings Ltd is set to compete in the multi-billion Nigeria’s e-commerce market with a strategic rebranding of one of its subsidiaries, Deelaa to Whatadeal.
Whatadeal is a platform of the tech-driven company that aims to redefine digital commerce across travel, events, and e-commerce, following SystemSpecs’ acquisition of Knit Technologies.
This move consolidates deep industry expertise and cutting-edge innovation.
John Obaro, the group managing director (GMD), SystemSpecs Holdings Limited, said the company is committed to technological excellence and customer empowerment, and that the platform will provide seamless, intuitive and unparalleled value to consumers.
Obaro also announced the appointment of Fela Bank-Olemoh as the new managing director of Whatadeal, to drive the digital commerce initiative of the group that was initially launched as Deelaa in 2022 as an e-ticketing and marketplace platform, catering to businesses and consumers.
According to Obaro, the transition to Whatadeal is more than a name change. He said that it is an intentional shift toward creating an ecosystem where customers do not just find deals but experience real value.
“With travel, events, and e-commerce at its core, Whatadeal seamlessly integrates these services to create a streamlined, rewarding, and modern user experience for today’s consumers,” he said.
Fela Bank-Olemoh, managing director, Whatadeal, said the platform is committed to making its vision of ‘better with us’ a reality. According to him, customers’ experiences and valuable offering on the platform will be delivered effortlessly without complication.
“Our mission goes beyond providing access to deals; we’re building an ecosystem that fosters engagement, trust, and long-term value for our customers. Whether you’re booking a trip, securing event tickets, or shopping for essentials, you deserve an intuitive and rewarding experience that consistently delivers the best.”
Bank-Olemoh was one-time special adviser on education to the Lagos State governor between 2015 and 2019 and senior special assistant to the President (office of the vice president) on education interventions between 2019 to 2023.
Bank-Olemoh, who led Knit Technologies in launching an innovative event listing and discovery mobile application, is expected to bring his unique blend of experience in technology, marketing, and leadership into shaping Whatadeal’s future and drive its growth.
