The Federal Government has sought an Abuja Federal High Court to revoke the bail granted Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indegenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Amongst other reliefs sought, the government wants him arrested placed under custody, pending his trial.
Kanu who is standing trial for alleged offences of conspiracy to commit acts of treasonable felony, treasonable felony and other related offences before this Justice Binta Nyako was granted bail with stringent conditions which has continued to flout.
Among other conditions for the bail of his bail, is that he should not be seen in a crowd exceeding 10 people, not grant any interviews, hold or attend any rallies.
However, rather than observing all of the conditions listed above, the 1st defendant in flagrant disobedience to the court order flouted all conditions of the bail, in furtherance to the offence he was charged, inaugurated Biafra Security Service, “such an act is a grave threat to national security and unity of the country”.
Attached in evidence with the process were video evidences of the rallies held by the IPOB leader, including interviews and press releases granted by him upon release from prison custody.
Meanwhile, Kanu who is standing trial alongside Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David NWAWUISI would be facing a new set of charge as on Bright Chimezie has been added to the new list of defendants.
