The Federal Government has appointed Ahmad Rufai Shakur as the new director for the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), according to sources close to the department.
Until his new appointment, Shakur was deputy director, corporate services in the agency, which regulates the local oil and gas industry.
He takes over from Mordecai Danteni Baba Ladan who was appointed on Jun 29, 2015.
The sources describe him as a seasoned administrator and technocrat.
