Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Muhammad Bello on Monday in Abuja inaugurated the newly appointed mandate secretaries, chief of staff and political aides of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, (FCTA,)
Bello charged them to deliver a secure environment and observe zero tolerance to corruption.
According to the Minister, “The appointments signal the commencement of the next phase of my administration’s development initiative. I would like to underscore the vision of the founding fathers of the FCT.
”You should also familiarize yourselves with the basic public serve rules and government procurement guidelines. As you take office , you must also embrace the values of team work and effective communication “.
He continued “The next two years will witness massive infrastructure in the satellite towns and rural areas of the FCT. Other areas of priority in this phase of our development initiative include education, health and ICT among others. We are comnitted to make Abujab Smart City”.
Bello appointed Adamu Bappah secretary for Area Council Services Secretariat; Nzekwe Ifeanyi chukwu, Agriculture and Rural Development; Isa Maina, Education and Amanda Pam for Health and Human Services.
Other Secretaries are Muhammad Umar, Legal Services; Oladimeji Hassan, Social Development; and Kayode Opeifa, Transportation Secretariat.
Similarly, Umar Shuaibu, coordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC); Isiyaku Yamawo, coordinator, Satellite Town Development Department (STDD); Ibrahim Damisa, Managing Director, Abuja Broadcasting Services.
Mohammad Mai-Bornu was appointed Chief of Staff to the Minister; Bala Mohammed Liman, Senior Special Assistant on Finance and Economic Matters; Olafusi Emmanuel Tosin, Senior Special Assistant, Legal and Multi-lateral Cooperation; and Abubakar Abdullahi, Senior Special Assistant, Information Communication Technology.
In the same vein, Isa Dara Bwari, Chika Nwatu and Abu Zarr Ribadu were appointed Advisers on Community Relations.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Senate Committee Chairman on FCT, Dino Melaye said the appointment is ” Holy Celestial Appoint” , because the Ministers meticulously chose the appointees.
He however urged them to make sure the Abuja Master Plan is maintained and upheld and support the Minister and Permanent Secretary to achieve the FCT of their dream.
Responding on behalf of the appointee, Chief of Staff to the Minister, Mohammed Mai-Bornu said that they considered their appointments as opportunity to serve Nigerians.
