The governor of Kaduna State and the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nasir El-rufai has said that he is not under any tension to lose election since President Muhammadu Buhari has been reelected.
The governor who arrived his polling unit at Ungwar Sarki ward at exactly 8:27 am, said only his staff are jittery of loosing election.
“I am not under any tension since Buhari has won. Even if I lose, I already have a job in Abuja. It’s just my staff who are jittery, I usually share this joke with them”, he said.
El-rufai who patiently joined other electorate on the queue decried low turnout of electorate, saying that the turnout was not encouraging compare to the last presidential elections.
The governor who insisted in joining the queue said that is the right thing to do as a patriotic citizen.
While reacting to the low turnout of electorate, he says: ” I am very optimistic that the turnout will improve. I think people are taking their time to come out and cast their votes for the candidates of their voice”.
Speaking on the security situation, the governor lauded the security agencies for been proactive. ” The military are out, although, they are not close to the polling unit, but they are out to ensure that everyone is save.
” In the part of INEC, they have done well and we hope to have a peaceful election”, the governor said.
