Equity Assurance Plc. has appointed kyari Abba Bukar as an independent director on the board. Bukar is presently the managing director of the Central Securities Clearing System PLC (CSCS). He holds a B.Sc. degree in nuclear engineering from Oregon State University, USA.
Commissioned in April, 1997, the CSCS operates as a computerized depository, clearing, settlement and delivery system for transactions in securities in the Nigerian Capital Market. It enables securities to be processed in an electronic book-entry form thereby substantially reducing the period it takes a transaction to commence and end.
