Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) Renewed Hope Estate at Ekpene Ukim in Uruan Local Government Area.
The groundbreaking performed over the weekend, marked the formal commencement of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Housing Project in Akwa Ibom State.
Governor Eno described the event as a testament of inter-governmental collaboration and expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and the Federal Housing Authority for choosing Akwa Ibom to flag-off the Renewed Hope Estate.
He noted that the housing initiative aligns with his Administration’s commitment to tackling the state’s housing deficit while creating a model of partnership with the Federal Government.
The governor allocated another 50 hectares of land to the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development for further housing development and assured the project managers of adequate logistics support including access roads and security to ensure smooth and speedy execution.
He said, “We thank the Federal Housing Authority for their collaboration and for making Akwa Ibom the first state where the Renewed Hope Estate is being launched. I am deeply grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving this project across the country.”
Earlier, Iniobong Ekpenyong, Chairman of Uruan Local Government Council, lauded Governor Eno and President Tinubu for bringing the Renewed Hope project to the area, assuring that the local government would provide the needed security and support for ithe successful implementation of the project.
But, Ezekiel Nya-Etok, Chairman, Commissioning Committee and Estate Services, commended the governor for commitment to partnership and delivery on promises.
Oyetunde Oladimeji Ojo, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Housing Authority, expressed joy at the commencement of the Renewed Hope Estate in Akwa Ibom, noting that the state’s exceptional hospitality influenced the choice of Uyo as the project’s launch point.
