Deputy Senate Minority leader wins Taraba south
The independent national electoral commission INEC has announced the Senate deputy minority leader and candidate of the PDP Emmanuel Bwacha, as the winner of the southern zone senatorial district in last Saturday’s elections.
Announcing the results in Wukari headquarters of the zone, prof.Adeyeye Solomon the returning officer, said
Bwacha polled ninety-six thousand three hundred and fifty-two votes to defeat his closest opponent Ishaku Bauka of APC who scored fifty-one thousand nine hundred and seventy.
Former minister Joel Ikenya, of APGA, got forty-seven thousand and ninety three votes as well as that of UPD Ibrahim Adamu Tubase who polled fifteen thousand one hundred and twenty-three votes respectively.
Meanwhile, on the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Malle of the All Progressives Congress APC has been declared as the winner of last Saturday’s house of representatives election to represent Jalingo, Yorro, Zing federal constituency.
Announcing the result in Jalingo, the returning officer Prof. Tamuno Godwin said Malle scored sixty-one thousand and seventy-seven votes and was declared winner.
