Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted at a possible departure from Al Nassr, declaring that “a chapter is over” just hours after the conclusion of the Saudi Pro League season.
The 40-year-old Portuguese superstar, who joined Al Nassr in 2022 after his second stint with Manchester United, has ended his contract with the Saudi club this summer.

In a cryptic social media post featuring a photo of himself in an Al Nassr shirt, Cristiano Ronaldo wrote:
“This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”
The statement suggests that while his time at Al Nassr may be ending, he intends to continue his playing career.
Ronaldo finished the season as the Saudi Pro League’s top scorer with 24 goals, but Al Nassr fell short of silverware, exiting the Asian Champions League in the semi-finals and finishing third in the domestic league.
A special FIFA transfer window from June 1–10 has been opened for the 32 clubs participating in the FIFA Club World Cup, set to begin in the United States on June 14. However, Al Nassr are not among the qualified teams, unlike domestic rivals Al Hilal.
Speculation has swirled around Ronaldo’s possible involvement in the Club World Cup, following comments made by FIFA President Gianni Infantino in a recent interview with YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed.
“And Ronaldo might play for one of the teams as well at the Club World Cup. There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup, who knows, who knows.”
