President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday joined all citizens of United States of America and other world leaders in prayers for quick and full recovery of President Donald Trump and his wife, Melanie. Both of them have reportedly tested positive to COVID-19.
The President, in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said he notes with sympathy, that the incident of COVID-19 in the White House manifests the challenge posed by the pandemic across the world, and difficulty in containing the spread.
While wishing the American First Family speedy turnaround in their current health status, President Buhari urges more compliance among Nigerians to protocols
He also urge for more adherence to advice of medical doctors, particularly epidemiologists.
United States President Donald Trump had earlier announced that he and First Lady, Melania Trump have tested positive for coronavirus and are in quarantine.
The president announced the news in a tweet.
This is coming after one of Mr Trump’s closest aides tested positive for coronavirus.
It is however not immediately clear when and for how long Trump and his wife have been infected
But First Lady,Melania has also announced that she was postponing all her upcoming engagements.
She tweeted: “As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together”
