The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday granted Ahmed Abdulrahman, a lawyer, bail in the sum of N50 million, subject to stringent conditions, in a case involving the alleged cyberbullying of a serving senator.
In her ruling, Justice Ofili Ajumogobia ordered that Abdulrahman must produce two sureties, each owning landed property within the Abuja Municipal Area Council.
The judge added that the properties must carry valid certificates of occupancy.
Justice Ajumogobia further directed the defendant and his sureties to submit their international passports and passport photographs to the court registrar.
She ruled that Abdulrahman is to remain in custody until all bail conditions are fully met.

The matter was adjourned until December 9 for further mention.
Earlier, A.A. Badmus, counsel to the 2nd to 5th defendants, informed the court that bail applications for three of his clients had also been filed.
The judge, however, clarified that the day’s proceedings were limited to the ruling on the 1st defendant’s application.
Abdulrahman, 41, and four others—Daure David, 35; Ishaq Muhammed, 25; Abdulrashid Musa, 30; and Nasir Abubakar, 21—are being prosecuted by the Inspector-General of Police on allegations bordering on cyberbullying Sen. Shehu Umar, Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence.
The charge, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/526/2025 and filed on October 6, includes 11 counts relating to cybercrime, defamation, and advance fee fraud.
The defendants were arraigned on October 30 and pleaded not guilty to all charges, after which the court ordered their remand at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).
