Funmilayo Aworinde, the Shepherd-in-Charge of Holy Rock Church of Christ C&S, has urged Nigerians to key into God’s plan for the country by promoting godliness and righteous living.
“God’s rain of mercy is going to come upon this country, but Christians and non-Christians alike have to key into that divine plan to experience that rain through righteous living and godliness,” Aworinde said during the Church’s praise night held on Friday November 21, 2025.
She made this known ahead of the ministry’s 15th harvest anniversary and thanksgiving service themed, ‘Rain of Mercy’ scheduled for Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Church auditorium in Lagos.
Aworinde said God’s promises on Nigeria are certain but conditional tied to how Nigerians are to appropriate those blessings for both personal and national lives. “There is no question about God’s ability to bless us as humans; however, we have to be in God’s plan to receive his blessings for the nations.”
The prophetess also urged Nigerians to exercise patience, especially with the growing prices of commodities. “Without prayers, nothing can be possible, especially considering the rate at which prices are going high on a daily basis.
“Therefore, I urge Nigerians to be prayerful. Things will not go back to normal except God returns them to normal. That is why as Nigerians, we have to be full of prayers at every moment of our lives,” Aworinde said.
Adding to her voice to the prevalence of drug abuse among Nigerian youth, Aworinde called for collaboration between the state, church and parents. “Without the power of God, there is little or nothing the Church as an institution can do.
“The truth of the matter is that being a disciplinarian as a parent is not enough; the same way beating cannot solve the issue of drug addiction, rather it is the power of prayer that can deliver any drug addict, be it youth or adult away from its destructive influence,” Aworinde said.
