As part of efforts at deepening human capacity as well as actualizing its mission to raise professional competence of the tax profession in Nigeria through up-to-date tax education, the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria Tax Academy (CITN) has appointed Olumide Obayemi as a Lecturer in its Department of Tax Law.
The new appointment confirms that Obayemi will join other erudite senior tax professionals to train and equip students with necessary skills and expertise needed in today’s ever dynamic revenue generation environment.
Obayemi is currently a Senior Associate at Ajumogobia & Okeke and a key member of its Tax Department. He holds a degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife; a Masters of Law from University of Alberta School of Law, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and a Masters of Law in Taxation and an SJD in International Legal Studies from Golden Gate University School of Law, San Francisco, California.
Commenting on the new appointment, Odein Ajumogobia, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Senior Partner, Ajumogobia & Okeke said, “Obayemi’s experience comes in handy for CITN even as the Academy inches closer to actualizing its vision of promoting synergy among tax payers, tax administrators, and academia for purposes of deepening tax culture.”
