For some time now, keen industry watchers believe that the Suzuki brand has been silent, leaving car freaks guessing as to what is happening to the Japanese brand launched about five years ago to battle rivals. At the moment, the good news is that C&I Motors, the local dealership has been strategising on how to deliver better services to its individual and corporate fleet buyers.
Only recently, the five year-old C&I Motors Limited, franchise owners of the Suzuki brand in Nigeria and a subsidiary of C&I Leasing plc unfolded plans to strengthen its after-sales support services for all its brand vehicles in the country. The company says the need to revitalise its auto centre was to ensure adequate availability of the brand’s spare parts for its numerous customers.
Maureen Ogbonna, acting managing director, Suzuki Motors Limited told the motoring press that, the reason to focus on turning around the auto centres was to satisfy Suzuki loyal customers that have been patronising the Suzuki products since its inception in the country.
She said that the company intended to set up one-stop shop auto centres in some parts of the country soon, as part of its strategy to ensure adequate back-up for its brands. As an auto company she said, automobile and spare parts manufacturers distribute their products through networks of distributors (“dealers”) and set up networks of authorised repairers. The first female boss of C&I Group automotive subsidiary maintained that strengthening the after sales service would boost customers acceptability of the brand.
“Our primary goal is to make Suzuki a household name in Nigeria. We want to be known for the best after-sales care, stress-free ownership experience, reliability, and quality. It is not only a matter of product sales, but spare parts availability,” the acting Managing Director stated.
