Recently, the ballroom of InterContinental Hotel Lagos, played host to high profile guests who came on the invitation of Emirate Holidays, Dubai Tourism and Jumeirah Group to an exciting evening and dinner.
As expected, the event was an exclusive evening of inspiration, elegance and culinary enchantment to express the companies’ appreciation to their Nigerian clients for their continued support.
But the surprise and highlight of the event amidst good food and wine, was the presentation of the North Deck at Burj Al Arab; the latest innovation from Jumeirah Group, foremost Dubai-based hotel group.
The group, which owns over 20 world-class hotels and resorts across the world, including Burj Al Arab, unarguably, one of the finest hotels in the world, and many other hotels in the pipeline, is set to take hospitality and luxury offering to another level with the introduction of its North Deck at Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
At his presentation to the Nigerian clients, Aymen Baccouche, associate director, Business Development, Burj Al Arab, unveiled the wonderful innovation and detailing the features that make North Deck a must-see and experience while on a visit to Dubai.
According to his presentation; the North Deck is a 10.000m2 platform connected to Burj Al Arab to increase the exclusive luxury offerings and options for the discerning global high profile leisure buffs. The platform, which is half the weight of the Eiffel Tower and built offsite in Finland, is the world’s first, employing state-of-the-art technology and design, manufacturing expertise and marine mastery.
Facilities on offer at North Deck expected to complement the existing luxury offerings at Burj Al Arab include; Fresh water swimming pool, salt water swimming pool, four Jacuzzis (each 15m2), 24 business class cabanas, eight first class cabanas with sea and deck views, toilets and showers, 400 sun loungers and two floors –changing rooms in lower level.
Others include; swim up bar, a restaurant offering relaxed dining with spacious terrace seating, 180 covers, and open to outside guests.
Bearing in mind the quality of the guests, the restaurant offers Santa Monica style modern cuisine, fresh lively ingredients and vibrant colors, while an outdoor bar offers the best of drinks and wine menu.
Baccouche beckoned on the Nigerian clients to take advantage of the new innovation expected to open from the second quarter of this year and also highlighted the astronomical growth of Jumeirah Group, especially existing properties and others in the pipeline across the world.
Of course, the event also witnessed synergies of the Dubai companies at marketing the United Arab Emirate country in Nigeria and West Africa.
One of such synergies was from Dubia Tourism led by Stella Obinwa, regional director for Africa, Dubai Tourism, who reintroduced ‘Destination Dubai’ to the Nigerian public at the event and the world class destination the city has become.
For Obinwa, North Deck is another first, and yet a reason to visit Dubai again. She promised Nigerians a wonderful experience at the deck when it opens second quarter of this year.
However, Manoj Nair, country manager, Emirates Airline, noted that beyond the presentation, the event provided the needed bounding and interactive platform for the Dubai companies and their clients necessary for better understanding, satisfactory services and mutual benefits.
