President Muhammadu Buhari held a closed door meeting with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni at the presidential villa, with discussions following majorly on discuss transport infrastructure between the two countries.
Speaking to State House Correspondents at the end of the meeting, the Ugandan President said he is looking forward to the development of transport Infrastructure that would easily link his country and Nigeria.
He said he hopes to float a National airline and build a rail line to facilitate movement from his country to Nigeria.
Museveni said so far Uganda and Nigeria have enjoyed mutual benefits especially in the area of security, noting that his country from time to time send military personel to train in Nigeria’s Defence institutions.
President Museveni, one of the longest serving African leaders is also in Abuja to share experiences with authorities of the National Defence College.
At the end of the meeting, he expressed delight at the hospitality accorded him by President Buhari.
Meanwhile, wife of the President, Aisha Buhari also hosted the First Lady of Uganda, Janet Museveni at the Aso Rock villa in Abuja.
President Museveni who assumed office in on January 29th, 1986 was involved in the rebellions that toppled the government of late dictator, idi amin in 1979.
