President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Justice M.B. Dongban-Mensem as the Acting President of the Court of Appeal (PCA) with effect from June 3, 2020, for a further period of three (3) months.
This is pursuant to Section 238(4) and (5) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), according to a statement by Presidential Spokesman, Garba Shehu.

Justice Mensem had taken over as acting President of the Court following the retirement of Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa in February, this year.
The President is constitutionally required to send Justice Mensem’s name to the National Assembly for screening before she can be confirmed as the substantive President of the Court.
