President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday assented to the Instrument of Ratification of the Agreement on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons between the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.
The President who arrived Abuja late last night after a week-long visit to the United Kingdom to attend the UK- Africa investment Summit in London, signed the instrument to give effect to the agreement.
The Federal Executive Council FEC had in 2018 given approval after for go to sign the agreement.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, stated that FEC after the Conclusion of August 1, 2018, approved and directed the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to prepare the Instrument of Ratification of the above Agreement for the President’s signature.
President Buhari’s assent formally executes the Agreement.
