Bruno Fernandes has reportedly turned down a blockbuster £100 million move to Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal, choosing to remain at Manchester United and be part of Ruben Amorim’s rebuild at Old Trafford.
Saudi giants Al Hilal were reportedly willing to pay up to £100 million for the 30-year-old Portugal international. The deal would have more than doubled Fernandes’ current salary at United, where he is already one of the club’s top earners.

After taking several days to consider the offer, Fernandes has now informed Al Hilal of his decision to stay in Manchester.
The Manchester United captain’s choice comes after a turbulent season in which the club recorded their worst-ever Premier League finish (15th position) and lost the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite the team’s struggles, Fernandes stood out as a rare bright spark, registering 19 goals and 19 assists across all competitions.
Speaking after United’s defeat to Spurs in Bilbao last month, Fernandes addressed growing speculation about his future:
“If the club thinks it’s time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it is what it is; football sometimes is like this.”
However, Amorim has remained confident that his compatriot would stay on as part of his plans to revive the club’s fortunes.
Fernandes has become a cornerstone at United since his £47 million move from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, making 290 appearances and scoring 98 goals for the club to date.
As Amorim begins reshaping an underperforming squad, United have already secured the signing of Brazil forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves and are heavily linked with a move for Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo.
