The upcoming Benue Food Basket Brewery is projected to tap into an estimated ₦1 billion monthly beer consumption market, with a daily production capacity of 10,000 crates. The brewery is also expected to generate 200 direct jobs in its first phase, another 200 in the second, and potentially over 1,000 indirect employment opportunities.
This was disclosed by the Group Managing Director of Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC), Raymond Asemakaha, during a media briefing at the company’s corporate headquarters in Makurdi. The announcement came as the firm took delivery of 16 out of 50 containers of equipment for the soon-to-be-launched Food Basket Brewery, located in Akile along the Makurdi–Gboko Road.
Asemakaha, accompanied by senior management staff, revealed that the 16 containers represent the first batch of equipment shipments from the People’s Republic of China. The remaining containers are expected to arrive in due course.
He described the delivery as one of the dividends of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia’s recent investment-focused visit to China, aimed at driving industrial development in Benue State.
