Grace Adagba, executive chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (Benue SUBEB), has said that the state is aligning its education policies and practices with global standards to enhance effective learning across Benue.
Adagba made this known on Thursday while participating in the ongoing British Council Language and Education Conference in Abuja, alongside policymakers and education leaders from across Sub-Saharan Africa.
She noted that Benue SUBEB remains committed to driving quality basic education and fostering inclusive learning environments across the state.
The conference, which was officially declared open by Yusuf Tanko Sununu, minister of education, and attended by Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, minister of state for education, was themed “Language, Education and Inclusion: Empowering Every Learner in Sub-Saharan Africa.”

The event provides a platform for cross-learning, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among education experts, with discussions focused on promoting inclusive and equitable learning through language, strengthening foundational education, improving assessment practices, integrating technology in teaching, and addressing challenges in diverse educational contexts.
