Atiku arrives Abuja, to address party faithful at Legacy House soon
Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja after a two-day visit to the United States of America.
BusinessDay gathered that the former Vice President touched down at the Abuja Airport at about 3:15pm on Saturday.
While in the United States, the presidential candidate participated in a business roundtable at the US Chamber of Commerce and met with some Nigerians.
While in the country, he said the aim of the visit was to attract investments back to Nigeria and create massive jobs for the hordes of unemployed youths, noting that “the current Nigerian administration has allowed our relationship with our long-standing friends and partners to deteriorate and this has had unfortunate consequences for our economy”.
Atiku is currently heading to the party’s Presidential Campaign Office (Legacy House) in Maitama Abuja, where he is expected to address party supporters already waiting for him.
Our correspondent who is at the Legacy House reports that the atmosphere is a carnival of some sort, as party supporters clad in the attires of the party and that of the candidate, have besieged the building, chanting solidarity songs.
Also, a Disc Jockey (DJ) is seen entertaining party supporters with local songs.
