Aspire, a patient advocacy group created to tackle the silence and social stigma associated with infertility, is partnering with The Bridge Clinic to prevent infertility and promote reproductive health and rights to treatment of the highest standards.
The Memorandum of Understanding signed recently, is to help establish the terms and conditions governing the technical partnership and support from The Bridge Clinic regarding the activities and objectives of Aspire.
Ifeoma Emekwue, Aspire brand ambassador, said that in the agreement, Aspire is expected to efficiently implement the planning, logistics and execution of all of its project, including the coordination and management of the projects with chosen third parties.
“Aspire shall seek to make reference to Bridge Clinic as both its technical partner and as reference fertility clinic in the pursuit and delivery of its responsibilities,” Ifeoma added.
She disclosed that Bridge Clinic shall provide technical support to Aspire as may be required from time to time, which may include counselling of couples or persons with fertility issues and support aspire in the delivery of its projects both technically and financially.
According to her, Aspire’s objectives are aimed at creating a greater awareness about infertility and productive health, encourage discussion and dialogue amongst couples who have gone through IVF to help them speak out against pretence and secrecy surrounding it and anchor forums for demystifying infertility from a social perspective amongst others.
According to Babatunde Ogunkinle, senior consultant gynecologist with the Bridge Clinic, “Bridge Clinic is the first focused IVF Clinic in the country with three branches nationwide and The Institute of Fertility Medicine at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, which is our corporate social responsibility.”
Ogunkinle said the hospital’s philosophy is providing a very high quality care and continuous improvement in the area of reproductive health and these have informed the implementation of quality management system in 2004, according to the International Organisation for Standardisation and its collaboration with IVF Zech International respectively.
