InnovateToImpact has paid glowing tribute to one of its key collaborators, Asefon Michael, describing him as a transformational leader whose technical expertise and passion for youth empowerment continue to shape Africa’s technology ecosystem.
In a statement, the organisation said Michael has become “more than a contributor” to its programmes, noting that his work across engineering, digital finance, IoT, and education has positioned him as one of the most influential technologists it engages with.
According to InnovateToImpact, Michael’s selection as a judge and facilitator during the Southeast Campus Hackathon in November 2024 was based on his track record for excellence and his ability to apply technology to real-world challenges.
“His reputation for technical excellence and leadership preceded him,” the statement said.
The organisation added that his presence at the hackathon brought clarity and professionalism that helped participating students refine their ideas and gain confidence in their innovations. It noted that Michael’s guidance was instrumental in shaping the outcomes of the programme.
Beyond the hackathon, InnovateToImpact highlighted Michael’s broader contributions to its 2024 Southeast Campus Tour, where his involvement helped the organisation equip more than 200 students with digital skills and mentorship opportunities.
Many of the participants, according to the group, have since advanced in their careers, crediting his mentorship as a turning point.
InnovateToImpact described Michael as a partner whose values align with the organisation’s mission.
“Michael represents everything we value: innovation, integrity, technical excellence, and a deep commitment to youth empowerment,” the statement noted.
As the organisation continues its push to nurture future African innovators, it said Michael’s dedication and engineering brilliance remain a source of inspiration.
“His impact is lasting, his leadership is inspiring, and his work continues to shape the tech ecosystem we all strive to advance,” InnovateToImpact added.
