Arsenal remain keen on signing Nigerian and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in the next transfer window, with the Gunners among several Premier League clubs eyeing a summer move for the 26-year-old.
Osimhen played a crucial role in Napoli’s historic Serie A triumph in 2022/23, scoring 31 goals in 39 appearances. His performances earned him a contract extension until 2026, with a reported €130 million (£108.9m) release clause.
Despite interest from PSG, Chelsea, and Saudi clubs last summer, a deal failed to materialize, and Osimhen instead moved to Turkish giants Galatasaray, where he has netted 26 goals in 30 appearances.
With Napoli now seeking a swift resolution to his future, Osimhen is expected to be available for a reduced fee this summer. Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs closely monitoring the situation as they look to bolster their attacking options.
On the international stage, Osimhen recently scored for Nigeria in their World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe, though the Super Eagles conceded a late equalizer. Currently fourth in their qualifying group, Nigeria must win their remaining four matches to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
