Arsenal have signed a multi-year extension partnership with Konami, ensuring the club remains one of the core teams in the developer’s eFootball franchise.
The new deal builds on an eight-year collaboration, with the length and value of the extension undisclosed.
The renewed agreement grants Konami continued commercial rights, including promotional access to Arsenal players and the use of official club branding and imagery within the eFootball series.
The club’s official kits and the Emirates Stadium will also remain in the free-to-play game, as the battle for football gaming licences between Konami and EA Sports intensifies.
Konami, which switched to the free-to-play model in 2021 after producing the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise, secured exclusive rights to both Milan clubs last season, forcing EA Sports to use fictional names, badges, and kits for them, though player likenesses remained.
Shinji Namekawa, President of Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. Europe, said:
“We are proud to be extending our partnership with such an iconic club. Arsenal represents excellence on and off the pitch, and we are excited to continue this journey together.”
Juliet Slot, Arsenal’s Chief Commercial Officer, added:
“The longevity of our partnership reinforces our shared values of innovation and progress, and we’re pleased to ensure Arsenal is a core part of the game for years to come.”
