The National Convention Central Coordination Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday held its inaugural meeting in Abuja as preparations intensify for the party’s national convention scheduled for March 26–27, 2026.
The meeting, presided over by former Governor of Katsina State and ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Bello Masari, formally signalled the commencement of the committee’s activities aimed at ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated convention.
The committee was constituted to streamline and supervise all arrangements leading to the convention, a key gathering where the ruling party is expected to take major decisions concerning its leadership structure and internal affairs.
Addressing members at the session, Masari stressed the importance of unity, transparency and strict adherence to the party’s constitution in carrying out the committee’s responsibilities.
He urged members to approach the assignment with a strong sense of duty and fairness to guarantee a credible and peaceful convention.
Members of the committee comprise key stakeholders within the party who have been tasked to ensure that the convention is effectively organised and reflects the APC’s commitment to internal democracy.
