Ahead of this Saturday’s National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Emmanuel Ebediro, a candidate for the position of National Organising Secretary, has promised to rejig the party for electoral victory in 2019.
Ebediro also said if elected as the next organising secretary of APC, he will bring his experience and vigour to bear on the fortunes of the party to triumph over opposition in the country.
He made these promises while interacting with journalists in Abuja ahead of the convention.
The APC National Organising Secretary hopeful recalled that as the former Imo state APC Secretary he worked for the victory of the only APC Governor from South East, 24 members of the state Assembly and two members of the House of Representatives.
Ebediro therefore promised to mobilise the party to win the Presidential election, win majority seats in the National Assembly, more state governorship slots and seats in Houses of Assembly.
He further promised to synergize with other members of APC National Working Committee and critical stakeholders to launder the party’s battered image to curry electoral favour of Nigerians.
“We are going to do whatever it takes to write every wrong that has happened in the party, because that is the only way to go”.
“We must create an enabling environment for all members of our party to be carried along in the decision making and activities of our party,” Ebediro stated.
The aspirant explained that he is a loyal party man and democrat who believes in dialogue and collective decision but decried the recent decision of southeast stakeholders of APC to scheme out other aspirants vying for the party’s national leadership positions through endorsement.
“That decision was premature, because you cannot be endorsing people to run for an election and you are also busy selling nomination forms to intending candidates to buy”.
“I can assure it came to no effect, because majority of our stakeholders believe that people should be given their inalienable right to participate in the electoral process”.
“South east endorsement of members of the National Working Committee is neither here or there, so it’s not as if I am running against the flow of events or the tide. I want to tell you that the endorsement cannot stand the test of time. It was an exercise in futility and that is why we are all running,” he said.
