Carlos Alcaraz produced a commanding performance to defeat Jannik Sinner and lift his second U.S Open title, reclaiming the world No. 1 ranking.
The Spaniard triumphed 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in New York, overcoming a second-set fightback from the Italian before reasserting control with blistering serving and precise shot-making.

The men’s final was delayed for 30 minutes due to heightened security following the arrival of U.S President Donald Trump, but once play began, Alcaraz quickly found his rhythm.
Alcaraz’s dominance on serve proved decisive as he regained the title he first won in 2022.
The 22-year-old now boasts six Grand Slam titles, becoming the second youngest man after Bjorn Borg to reach the milestone. His victory also ensured an even share of the four majors this season between himself and Sinner, who captured the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
“I see you more than my family. It’s great to share the court with you,” Alcaraz told Sinner after sealing victory with a 131mph ace, a fitting finish to a fortnight where his serve shone.
Sinner, who had held the No. 1 ranking for 65 weeks, saved two championship points before Alcaraz converted his third, celebrating with his trademark grin and golf swing gesture.
