African Centre for Environmental Protection (ACEP) seems to ignite youth action across Nigeria for World Environment Day. Schools in Rivers State and nearby Akwa Ibom as well as in different locations in Nigeria are understood to be moved into passion for the environment including war against plastic waste pollution.
This is said to be in celebration of World Environment Day 2025. ACEP has already launched a three-week campaign across five Nigerian states. They are understood to have inspired over 500 students and educators to champion sustainability.
The initiative is said to have established five Eco Clubs, empowering youth as environmental ambassadors.

In Rivers state, ACEP rallied 120 female engineering students at Rivers State University and 90 students at FGGC Abuloma, fostering environmental leadership.
In Akwa Ibom State at the Trinity Star Model School, 61 students embraced eco-stewardship, guided by Jonah Jason Unwanah and Bassey Abasiofon Sunday.
At Relmas Great Stars International School, Kaduna, Arziki Zoaka engaged 67 students with quizzes, gifts, and talks, sparking eco-passion.
Similarly, at Abuja, Sandra Adaobi Esimaje inspired 70 students at Al-Noor Academy to combat plastic pollution, igniting plans for a student-led Eco Club.
While at Nasarawa, over 138 students at Epitome Model Islamic School learned to ‘beat plastic pollution’ with actionable insights and materials.
ACEP’s campaign is understood to have ignited a movement, leaving a lasting legacy of sustainability across Nigeria.
