Ademola Lookman has made it clear that his top priority is joining Inter this summer.
The 27-year-old winger has grown increasingly frustrated with Atalanta’s refusal to accept what he believes is a fair proposal. In a strong statement posted on Instagram on Sunday, Lookman accused the club of going back on its word.
“After many months of broken promises and what I feel has been poor treatment towards me as both a human being and a professional footballer, I’ve decided to formally request a transfer,” he said.
“Over the past three years at Atalanta, I’ve given absolutely everything. Winning the Europa League and celebrating with our fans in Dublin was one of the proudest moments of my career.
“But now, after three wonderful years in Bergamo, I feel it’s the right time to move on and embrace a new challenge.”
Lookman revealed that Atalanta had previously agreed to let him leave if a suitable offer came, but now appears to be blocking the move.
“Despite now receiving an offer in alignment with what I believe had been discussed, sadly, the club are blocking the opportunity for reasons I do not understand.”
Inter Milan have made two bids so far, €40m plus €5m in bonuses initially, followed by €42m plus €3m in add-ons, both rejected by Atalanta, who insist on a €50m fee.
Ademola Lookman has already deleted all Atalanta-related content from his social media, further signalling his intent to leave the club.
