Super bantamweight boxer Sodiq ‘Happy Boy’ Adeleke emerged as the biggest winner at GOtv Boxing Night 33, held on Saturday at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
Adeleke claimed the N1 million cash prize attached to the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy for Best Boxer after securing a third-round technical knockout victory over Muideen Abiodun in their national challenge bout.
In the headline fight of the night, teenage sensation Raheem “Badoo” Animashaun maintained his unbeaten record, knocking out Jean Coffi of Benin Republic in the third round to claim his 15th professional win.

Following the victory, Animashaun, a law undergraduate, boldly challenged opponents in his weight division to contest for his West African Boxing Union (WABU) super flyweight title.
Other highlights of the night included Tobiloba “Silent Assassin” Ijomoni’s win over Abolade Akintunde in a light welterweight clash and Emmanuel “Ability Famous” Abimbola edging William “Kaki” Amosu via a split decision after a closely fought battle.
Veteran fighter Sikiru “Omo Iya Eleja” Shogbesan relied on his experience to defeat Segun “Odi” Gbobaniyi by unanimous decision in their national lightweight challenge.
Meanwhile, Tosin “Sojar Boy” Osaigbovo scored a sixth-round technical knockout against Adeogun Awwal, who replaced Ghana’s Emmanuel Otoo at the last minute.
In the super featherweight division, Lateef “Captain” Azeez capped off the action-packed evening by defeating Sodiq “Golden Boy” Oyakojo via split decision.
