The American Business Council (ABC) in partnership with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), an inter-governmental organization, is set to organize the maiden edition of its trade and investment series, which seeks to examine investment options and opportunities in Nigeria.
The virtual forum themed “Investment opportunities in Nigeria” will introduce a new public-private initiative, which aims to facilitate investment in Nigeria, while creating jobs and training opportunities for youth, thereby tackling some of the root causes of irregular migration.
The first edition of the forum is scheduled to hold on the 29th of April by 3pm via Zoom.
Speakers at the event include Adeniyi Adebayo, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Nigeria, Michael Spindelegger, Director-General, ICMPD, Austria, Margaret Olele, CEO, American Business Council, Nigeria, Andreas Gebauer, CEO, European Business Park, Enugu among others.
The initiative includes a Business Park to provide security and quality infrastructure to international and Nigerian investors, the Centre of Practical Skills to upscale and certify Nigerian workers based on international standards, and the Start-Up Centre to support local entrepreneurship.
All three are being developed in Enugu, on a campus of Godfrey Okoye University, a key partner of the project. The initiative is supported by the Austrian Development Bank, the European Investment Bank and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ).
Interested participants are advised to visit the ABC website for registration details.
