The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued a stern warning to the general public regarding the circulation of fake certificates of incorporation allegedly linked to three cooperative societies.
In an official disclaimer released and signed by the Management by the Commission, it was revealed that the certificates being paraded by the companies were not issued by the CAC.
The affected organizations have been identified as SPEF Cooperative Society Ltd, UPIL Staff Cooperative Society Ltd, and PREM Staff Cooperative Society Ltd.
According to the statement, each of the three companies is associated with two separate RC (Registration Certificate) numbers, none of which were issued by the Commission. The details are as follows:
SPEF Cooperative Society Ltd – RC Numbers 1265884 & 512862
UPIL Staff Cooperative Society Ltd – RC Numbers 1265837 & 553220
PREM Staff Cooperative Society Ltd – RC Numbers 1265844 & 545901
“The General Public is hereby informed that the Certificates of incorporation being paraded by the Companies listed below were not issued by the Commission.
“They all have two different RC Numbers that were not issued by the CAC.
These companies are: SPEF COOPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD RC NUMBER 1265884 & 512862
UPIL STAFF COOPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD RC NUMBER 1265837 & RC 553220
PREM STAFF COOPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD RC NUMBER 1265844 & RC 545901
“Anyone that transacts any business with the above-mentioned companies does so at their own risk,” the statement read.
