George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation, has called on Nigerians to reflect on the significance of Eid-el-Kabir, which is anchored on selfless love and compassion.
In a message issued in Abuja on Thursday and personally signed by him, Akume stressed the need for Nigerians to imbibe the essence of the festival, which includes sacrifice, submission to the will of God as well as compassion and generosity towards others.
The SGF urges the citizens to pray for the nation and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he continues to deliver on his Renewed Hope Agenda. He also enjoined Nigerians to pray for the continuous peace and stability of the country and work together towards a united, peaceful, and progressive nation.
Akume congratulated the Muslim faithful on the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, and prayed that Allah accept their sacrifices in the spirit of the festival.
