Christiana Ojonugwa Onoja is a technology consultant, AI/ML integrator with extensive experience in multi-sectoral digital transformation, and a passionate advocate for gender inclusion in emerging technologies. As the CEO and Co-Founder of SheCode.ai-Africa’s first AI-powered ecosystem built to empower women and girls to learn, build, and lead in the digital economy. She is also the Founder and Executive Director of the Partnership for African Women Advancement (PAWA) Initiative, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to amplifying the impact of women in technology while cultivating the next generation of African women leaders in STEM through innovative programmes that enhance their business, employment, and technological capabilities.
Christiana’s expertise is grounded in a robust educational background. She holds a B.Eng. in Electrical Electronics Engineering from Bells University of Technology and has completed executive programmes in Leadership in Business at the University of Notre Dame USA, and Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development at The Entrepreneurial School® MCI in Austria. These experiences have equipped her with both the technical proficiency and leadership acumen to drive impactful innovation across Africa.
Ojonugwa Onoja has a strong successful history of working in various ecosystems in the fast-growing Information Technology industry. She also has extensive experience in multi-departmental interfacing in organisations.
She is a seasoned professional with over 5 years of experience in IT services, where she has facilitated the provision of technology services and advisory to clients in the oil and gas, banking, insurance, FMCG, and telecoms sectors, among others.
Christiana is a 2025 UNIDIR Women in AI Fellow, a Mandela Washington Fellow from the U.S. Department of State, a Perplexity AI Business Fellow, and has also been recognised as a Global Citizen honoree by the Ban Ki-moon Centre. UN Women & Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Women Affairs (2020) – Named one of 25 young women leaders advancing generation equality, ambassador, Women in Data Science Global, Next Generation Women Leaders Programme by McKinsey’s Capabilities and Insights team in Madrid, and a 2024 CSW68 Delegate-UN Women UK amongst others.
She actively contributes to international innovation platforms, including the International Leadership Association (ILA), the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Innovation Unit and being a COREN-certified Engineer and a Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE).
Through SheCode.ai and her broader advocacy work, she is pioneering AI solutions that bridge the digital gender gap, targeting 5 million African women and girls by 2030. Her career spans advisory roles in AI integration, business analysis, and inclusive tech policy, all driven by a commitment to ethical, accessible, and transformative innovation. As the incoming strategic anchor for SheCode.ai Circles in Africa’s Lusophone and Anglophone regions, Christiana continues to set benchmarks for Africa-led, women-centered AI ecosystems.
