Napoli have reportedly identified Lille’s striker, Jonathan David, as a replacement for Victor Osimhen as Antonio Conte begins reshaping his squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in scintillating form in the Turkish Süper Lig, netting 33 goals and providing 8 assists in 38 appearances.
Despite his outstanding season, the Nigerian striker appears unlikely to continue his career at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A club have made a formal proposal to Jonathan David, with talks now at an advanced stage. The Canadian striker is available on a free transfer after confirming he will leave Lille at the end of his contract this summer.
David, 25, has long been tipped for a move to the Premier League, but Napoli are now seen as front-runners for his signature. In March, the striker hinted at a move to a bigger stage.
“I’m not sure if I’m staying or going, but if I do end up going, I think I have to push myself at the very highest level… I know it’s an important year; it’s a big decision, so I’ll make a wise decision.”
