The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suffered another round of defections in the House of Representatives, with three lawmakers from Katsina State crossing over to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The notices of their defection were conveyed in seperate letters read by Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the House, during plenary on Thursday. All three lawmakers cited the prolonged and unresolved crisis in the PDP, both nationally and at state levels as reasons for their defections.
Abdullahi Balarabe, who represents the Bakori/Danja federal constituency, said he sought a more stable platform due to the “protracted crisis” within the PDP.
