…as monarch seeks installation of CCTV along Fiditi-Oyo road
Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, has said that he was glad and had no regret by ensuring that due process was followed during the selection of the new Alaafin of Oyo.
Governor Makinde, who stated this when Oba Abimbola Àkeem Owoade I, the Alaafin of Oyo and his wife, Olori Abiwunmi, visited him in Ibadan, added he ensured neutrality throughout the process of selection in order to prevent bias and ensure a fair and unbiased resolution.

He noted that the concept of an impartial decision-maker is integral to fostering public confidence, assuring the monarch of his determination to ensure a befitting renovation and reconstruction of the Alaafin Palace.
Oba Abimbola Àkeem Owoade I, Alaafin of Oyo, while responding, extolled the virtues of Governor Makinde of Oyo State, describing him as “a man with an objective bent of mind, who is extremely curious and always on the quest for truth”.
Bode Durojaiye, the Director of Media and Publicity to the Alaafin, in a release, said the monarch made the remark when he paid a courtesy visit to the governor at his Ikolaba Residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital.

Oba Owoade noted that while remaining faithful to personal principles, the governor is “ever ready to succumb to superior argument if logic and evidence are compelling enough.
“Gov. Makinde is deeply a passionate person. He beliefs in the cause that he espouses. He is passionate about the cause of emancipation of his people”.
The Alaafin, who called for the installation of CCTV cameras between Oyo and Fiditi Town, told the governor that CCTV cameras had been installed between Ibadan and Fiditi.
