Medview Airline, a fast growing domestic airline which began scheduled operations two years ago, is vigorously expanding its wings as it plans to go international soon, having acquired and ordered for more fleet.
“Medview had earmarked plans to acquire more fleet in order to service part of its newly designated routes of Dubai and Jeddah, it is deploying a B767-300ER and B737 for these operations, we have also acquired two B737-400 series which are currently undergoing necessary checks, we have plans to deploy these equipment on our domestic and regional routes.
“We intend to increase out domestic operations to Uyo, Calabar, Owerri with new B737’s,” Muneer Bankole, managing director of the airline, said at a briefing on the second year anniversary.
He added that the airline has plans to operate into Dakar, Abidjan among others.
On the Dubai route, Bankole explained that the aircraft that is being designated on the route is undergoing reconfiguration adding that it is ready to pull its weight and compete with others who were already operating on the route.

According to him, the airline had between October 2012 and 2013 airlifted 336,765 passengers while it airlifted 419, 627 passengers October 2013 and 2014. It had altogether carried 756,437 passengers as at October 2014.
Meanwhile, Bankole said the Company will soon be listed by the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) as soon as talks between it and the management of the NSC is completed.
Medview Airline began operations scheduled domestic operation in November 2012 after it had Hajj airlift for a long time.
He said it had opened talks on how the Company will sell shares to the public in order for it to grow stronger.
“Few days ago, I was in a meeting with the management of the NSE on how we will go public so that you and I can hold shares in it,” he said.

Meanwhile, the airline said it is ready to be designated as a national carrier if the government is willing start the carrier.
He said the Company has the structure and equipment to do so as it is already spreading its tentacles across Nigeria and beyond.
Earlier, Bankole decried the multiple designations for foreign carriers, saying the airlines (foreign) add no value to the sector.
He urged government to take a second look at the decision in order to maximise the operations of domestic airlines.
