In fulfillment of its commitment to the improvement of the quality of education in Nigeria particularly in public secondary schools, Leoplast Foundation has rewarded winner of its annual Essay competition in Lagos and Ogun State.
The easy competition which was conducted by Leading Edge Consulting company on behalf of the Leoplast was a competition for students in public schools within the Leoplast Group ‘Catchment Areas’ in Lagos and Ogun States while three independent examiners appointed from the academia and the media graded the essays.
Sanjana Daswani, executive director, Leoplast Foundation in her address at the prize giving ceremony in Lagos applauded the students for their conduct during the competition noting that there was no reported case of examination malpractice.
Ije Jidenma, the CEO of Leading Edge Consulting, in her remark was happy that a healthy free and fair competition will be enthroned in schools across the nation. It is hoped that the scope of the competition will become an annual national exercise.
At the Lagos leg of the essay competition, Chidinma Okonkwo from Ijeshatedo Grammar School, Okota-Isolo emerged first and went home with a cheque of N100, 000 and a brand new laptop.
The second position was won by Chizoba Uchendu from Okota Senior High School, Okota-Isolo, who goes with a cheque of N75, 000 and award winning books. While the third prize position went to Samuel Martins from Okota Senior Secondary School, Okota-Isolo, who goes with a cheque of N50, 000 and award winning books by leading African writers.
