XHS Nigeria has urged for more adoption of electronic document management systems by businesses to enable them efficiently navigate the “new world of work.”
The COVID-19 pandemic, the company says, has transformed the way businesses are conducted and the experiences that customers derive from services.
At an exhibition it organised in Lagos, the company said Xerox is focusing on how people can access and process official documents without geographical limitations.
“The exhibition was necessitated by current happenings in recent years, more specifically since March 2020 in the wake of COVID-19 and Endsars protest with its attendant results of limited movement and destructions, more people all over the world have had to work from home and other remote locations,” XHS said in a statement.

An electronic document management system (EDMS) is a collection of digital tools for managing the creation, use, and storage of documents (digital files and scanned images of paper documents) in multiple formats. EDMS is much more than simply scanning and saving. It is a comprehensive system that enables knowledge workers to efficiently organise and distribute documents across the organisation for better, integrated use within daily operations.
EDMS has many benefits including helping organisations create digital files and convert paper documents into digital assets; store and access information for more efficient use. Organisations can also centrally organise documents in standardised file structures and formats and share digital documents with the right knowledge workers easily. EDMS also enables secure access and permissions for both user-level and document-level.
