Yemisi Ayeni is the Chairperson, NASCON Plc. She is also a non-executive director at Stanbic-IBTC Pension Managers Ltd and Guiness Nigeria Plc.
Established in 1973, NASCON Allied Industries Plc (previously known as NASCON Plc), a registered company in Nigeria, was established as a salt refining establishment under the name National Salt Company (NASCON). The company has since evolved with additional business lines to include Vegetable Oil, Tomato Paste and Seasoning with production facilities in Lagos State (Apapa and Oregun), Ogun State (Ota), Rivers State (Port Harcourt).
The leading player in Salt in Nigeria, NASCON has its footprint throughout Nigeria with expanding market share across their categories.
Ayeni is a founding member of the Panel of Advisors for the Africa Initiative for Governance and the Chairperson of the Dr. Funmi Alakija Foundation. She was appointed to the Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1st September 2018.
Yemisi Ayeni holds a BA (Econs) Hons specialising in Accounting and Business Finance from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom and thereafter qualified as a Chartered Accountant in England and Wales in 1989.

Ayeni started her professional career with Price Waterhouse (PW) (now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers), London in 1985 where she spent 5 years and rose through the ranks to become Manager of the firm’s Corporate Reconstruction and Insolvency Team in 1990.
Thereafter, Yemisi returned to Nigeria in 1991 as a Senior Manager in the Corporate Finance Team of PW, after which she had a stint in self-employment between 1992 and 1994 where she was a partner in a privately owned financial consultancy firm.
In 1994, Ayeni joined Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Co Ltd (SNEPCo) and in 1996, she joined Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC). Ayeni’s work experience spanned different subsidiaries in Shell Nigeria and in November 2004, she was appointed Finance Manager/Director of SNEPCo earning her the distinction of being the first Nigerian female ever to be appointed to the Board of a Shell Company in Nigeria.
She was appointed the Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Closed Pension Fund Administrator Limited in year 2005 from where she retired on 30 April 2015.
Ayeni is an Executive Board Member of Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ). WIMBIZ is a non-profit organisation that has, over the last 19 years, implemented programs that inspire, empower and advocate for greater representation of women in leadership positions in the public and private sector.
WIMBIZ collaborates with credible domestic and international global organisations to deliver programs, which have influenced over 119,000 women since inception. Their vision at WIMBIZ is to be the catalyst that elevates the status and influence of women and their contribution to nation building.
