The Women’s Guild of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, St Andrews, Ndiokpo Parish, Ihechiowa, Arochukwu Local Government of Abia State has honoured Udoka Agwu, the BusinessDay correspondent in Abia as a ‘Humble Servant of God’.
Udoka was given the award on the occasion of 2018 Mothers Sunday Celebration in recognition of his selfless services in the progress of the Women’s Guild in the church in particular and PCN in general.
Elder Mrs. Rose Oburu Elechi, while preaching during the service on the Sub-theme ‘Women, Be Armed with the Word for Exploits’, said if women were armed with the word of God, they would be set for great exploits. She urged the women to always be armed with the word to enable them do exploits in life.
Elechi cited Mary Slessor as a woman who was armed with the word of God to fight for the abolition of killing of twins.
“If you see where misunderstanding is brewing, as a woman armed with the word of God, you should move in to make peace. Mary Slessor was a peace maker and we should emulate that our mother,” she admonished.
Udoka, in his response after receiving the award, appreciated the group for the honour done to him.
He expressed gratitude that the award meant that “a prophet is now with honour in his own home.”
