A new tourism experience is evolving gradually but steadily in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre, as Levitikal Group builds what is going be the largest single resort in West Africa. The resort is designed to redefine tourism in the country.
The ambitious facility, known as Prime Meridian Aquatic and Golf Resort, sits on 56 hectares of land and is located in Badagry, which is a natural tourism destination with its rich history, cultural significance, and aquatic ecosystem.
The resort is being developed and promoted by Levitikal Group, a leading conglomerate in Nigeria that operates in various sectors, including real estate, construction, energy, agriculture, and hospitality.
With a diverse portfolio and a commitment to delivering exceptional value, the Group is dedicated to driving progress and development across the country. It consists of several entities, including Levitikal Realities & Construction, Levitikal Agro & Farm, Levitikal Entertainment & Hotels, and Levitikal Energy Limited.
“We are building the biggest resort in West Africa called Prime Meridian Aquatic and Golf Resort. We believe that when that project becomes a reality, it’s going to change the face of tourism, not just in Lagos, but in West Africa.
It’s going to open up a new destination for tourists coming from all over the world because this is the first resort that is aquatic,” Samuel Ajose, chairman/CEO, Levitikal Group, told BusinessDay in an interview.

“Ajose noted that, for the first time, they are taking real estate into hospitality, disclosing that the resort will, on completion, boast a world-class Casina with 220 standard rooms; water parks, waterfront villas; jetty services, boat club, standard tennis court, 58-capacity parking, and a helipad.
This resort has a golf course and everything you can think of. I’ve been able to bring different things that attract the minds of Nigerians traveling abroad to be able to create them in that resort. We’re going to have shopping malls where we’re trying to bring big and international brands,” he assured.
Ajose noted further that the reason Nigerians travel a lot is not just because they want to go on vacation, but also because of shopping, assuring that they will bring that shopping experience into Nigeria.
“People in West African states will be able to come into that resort, spend their holiday, and after spending their holiday, they will be able to do shopping and go back. And one of the things that we’re trying to achieve with that is to prevent capital flight,” he said.
Besides entertainment and leisure, the resort also yields itself to investment, offering investors the opportunity to earn income. When I talk about bringing real estate into hospitality, when you have that kind of project, and you have Nigerians who have invested in it, it means they have a lifetime investment. They will be earning returns that will even be bigger than what they will naturally get in a one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartment.
Levitical Group is an avid real estate developer with strong footprints in the luxury segment of the market. Over the last 15 years, when it opened for business, the company has, according to the chairman/CEO, delivered about 1,000 apartments and provided homes, directly and indirectly, to a large number of people.
