Feranmi Oladosu, a solo game developer from Lagos, has landed a major publishing agreement with Acclaim, international partner, following a viral gaming moment that captured global attention.
Oladosu, the founder of Fer Factor, has spent the past two years crafting Toss Down which is an action-packed roguelike game where players navigate deliveries while dodging meteors, missiles, and other chaotic obstacles.
The game, reminiscent of classics like Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, and Paperboy, is slated to launch on Steam and major consoles in 2026.
The breakthrough came in May 2024 when Oladosu participated in a Twitter challenge hosted by developer Tyler Glaiel, which asked creators to amplify elements in their games by 100 times.
Oladosu took up the challenge by massively increasing the number of obstacles in Toss Down and shared the wildly chaotic result online which is a clip that quickly went viral and drew attention from players and industry watchers alike.
Following the viral trend, Toss Down was featured by influential gaming outlets such as PC Gamer which increased its visibility.
This attention ultimately led to Acclaim signing Oladosu to a publishing deal in September 2025. The agreement will support Toss Down’s commercial release and help bring the title to a wider audience.
Oladosu began learning game development as a teenager using Unity tutorials on YouTube and has since dedicated himself to building engaging gaming experiences.
Beyond the immediate success of Toss Down, he aims to contribute to the growth of Africa’s game development scene by creating more globally recognized titles.
Toss Down features a diverse cast of characters, each with unique abilities, and boasts over 50 perks and 20 power-ups that allow players to customize their play style.
While no official release date has yet been announced, excitement is building for the game’s 2026 debut under Acclaim’s banner.
