Purch, a leading Nigerian consumer electronics and lifestyle retailer, has entered into a strategic partnership with MPLED, a global manufacturer of professional LED display technology, in a move aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s digital display and advertising infrastructure.
The alliance is designed to bridge the gap between high-end industrial display solutions and the Nigerian commercial market.
Through the partnership, Purch will leverage its nationwide retail network to distribute MPLED’s advanced LED signage and large-format display systems to businesses, event organisers, churches, campaign teams and retail outlets across the country.
Speaking at the partnership signing, Purch founder and Chief Executive Officer, Iyke-Henry Nnadike, said the collaboration aligns with the company’s long-standing mission of providing practical and affordable technology solutions to Nigerians.
“From mobile phones, we expanded into electronics with the goal of making quality electrical appliances accessible to Nigerians,” Nnadike said.
“As we reviewed our product offerings, we began to look at areas where we could provide more solutions, especially in the media and advertising space.”
He noted that Nigeria’s advertising landscape has evolved significantly in recent years, with increasing demand for both indoor and outdoor digital display boards.
According to him, this trend informed Purch’s decision to seek a global partner capable of delivering high-quality LED solutions that meet international standards.
“Our search for the right partner took almost a year,” he said. “We were deliberate about choosing a company that meets European standards because quality is non-negotiable for us.
We want to change the mindset around inferior products in the Nigerian market. We are focused on service and long-term value.”
Under the agreement, Purch becomes MPLED’s authorised distributor and partner in Nigeria and Africa for an initial five-year period.
The companies formalised the partnership with the signing of a certificate, marking the official rollout of MPLED’s outdoor LED display products into the Nigerian market.
Nnadike said the newly introduced products are designed to be user-friendly, durable and adaptable to Nigeria’s operating environment.
He added that the systems incorporate innovations intended to simplify installation and maintenance for local users.
The outdoor LED displays, which were formally launched at the event, are expected to serve a broad range of applications including political campaigns, religious gatherings, concerts, sporting events and corporate promotions.
With high brightness and clarity, the screens are built to remain visible even in outdoor conditions and over long distances.
Speaking on the partnership, Lisa Tan, General Manager of MPLED, expressed excitement about collaborating with Purch to introduce the company’s products to the Nigerian and wider African markets.
She said the strong synergy between both firms, driven by a shared commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, would ensure the partnership’s success.
Tan added that the energy-efficient and affordable products are designed to stand out in Nigeria’s growing market.
Also speaking on the partnership, Francis Osai, an officer at Purch, said the collaboration reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to quality despite the challenging business environment.
He noted that after an extensive search, MPLED stood out as the best partner for the project, earning Purch’s full confidence.
According to him, entering the venture without fear has allowed both companies to commit fully and today, the results are already bringing smiles.
Businesses are increasingly adopting digital advertising formats, demand for reliable LED infrastructure has grown.
Digital billboards and large-format displays are becoming more common in major Nigerian cities, reflecting a shift from static print boards to dynamic, programmable visual platforms.
By entering the professional LED display market, Purch is expanding beyond its traditional consumer electronics portfolio into business-to-business technology solutions.
The company says the move reflects a broader ambition to participate in shaping Nigeria’s evolving digital ecosystem.
Both firms expressed confidence that the partnership will not only improve access to quality LED technology but also contribute to more professional standards in the country’s visual advertising and event production sectors.
