Nollywood titles continued to lead cinema earnings during the February 6–8 weekend, holding their ground against Hollywood releases based on the latest box office figures.
Funke Akindele’s record-breaking film ‘Behind the Scenes‘ and Toyin Abraham’s Oversabi Aunty led the weekend box office, with Nigerian productions taking most of the top spots and maintaining steady audience turnout across cinemas nationwide.
BTS: Behind the Scenes topped the chart with N43.7 million for the weekend, pushing its cumulative gross to N2.57 billion in its ninth weekend in cinemas. Total admissions for the film now stand at 434,648, keeping it as the highest-grossing title currently showing.
In second place, Oversabi Aunty earned N20.4 million over the three days, bringing its total box office to N1.1 billion in its eighth week. The film has recorded 190,935 admissions so far and continues to draw audiences weeks after its release.
Shelter placed third for the weekend, grossing N18.8 million. In its second week in cinemas, the film has reached a cumulative total of N50.2 million, with total admissions standing at 7,445.
For fourth position, Alive Till Dawn, a horror-thriller set around a zombie outbreak, grossed N12.8 million during the weekend. The film has now earned N40 million cumulatively in its second week, with 6,946 total admissions.
Everything Is New Again ranked fifth, earning N9.7 million between February 6 and 8. Its cumulative gross now stands at N28.1 million in its second week, with 4,600 admissions recorded.
Hollywood title Avatar 3 came in sixth with N7.8 million for the weekend. After eight weeks in cinemas, the film has grossed a total of N653.4 million, with cumulative admissions of 91,246.
New release To Adaego With Love debuted in seventh position, opening with N6.5 million over the weekend and recording 1,103 admissions in its first outing.
Overall, Nollywood films accounted for six of the top seven positions on the chart for the February 6–8 weekend, reflecting continued audience support for local titles alongside ongoing Hollywood releases.
