The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has distanced itself from the actions of Olakunle Folarin, one of its former employees, who was recently seen participating in a matchmaking programme hosted on the social media platforms of entertainer Lege Miami.
In a statement issued on Monday by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity, the Commission condemned Folarin’s conduct, stressing that he was no longer a staff member of the agency after being dismissed for certificate forgery.
According to the EFCC, Folarin had served as a driver at its Ibadan Zonal Directorate but was sacked after investigations revealed he falsified his academic credentials. Despite his dismissal, he was found to be in unlawful possession of official items belonging to the Commission, including an identity card.
Ola Olukoyede, EFCC Chairman, has therefore ordered Folarin’s immediate arrest for failing to return the properties in his custody.

The agency also cautioned the public against associating his post-dismissal activities with the Commission.
“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission condemns in the strongest terms the involvement of one of its former staff, Olakunle Alex Folarin, in a matchmaking programme running on Lege Miami social media platforms.
“The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered his arrest for being in possession of some Commission’s properties, including an identity card, which he should have handed over upon being dismissed”, the statement read.
